ADD YOUR LIGHT PRODUCTS INC. distributes the high quality LED lamps and voltage regulators used by Add Your Light Charitable Foundation & other NGOs for humanitarian projects.
Seven years of research and field work went into developing our robust and reliable LED/solar lighting system. Our goal was to develop a system that, once installed, would not break down or fail, except under extraordinary circumstances. We wanted a system in which parts could be replaced easily, after an appropriate and long lifespan.
We did not want a product that would last only a year or two and end up as yet more trash lying by a road, or in a landfill. This is far too common a scenario, all over the world.
And we achieved our goal. We now are able to offer our product to other organizations working in less developed countries. We have hundreds of systems in the Dominican Republic & Haiti, as well as pilot systems in Ethiopia, Nicaragua, and Panama.
COMPONENTS: Click here to see the components of a system.
ADVANTAGES FACT SHEET: Explains the advantages of our lighting system over other 'solutions' on the market.
OUR LAMPS: Explains how Add Your Light's LED LAMP circuit and housing have been carefully designed for performance and long life.
PRICING: Explains how we price the components. Ask us for information and a price quote if you are interested in installing systems anywhere in the world.
MICROCREDIT & LIGHT: Explains how we make this affordable to families who have limited financial resources. A concept that is transferable to most countries.

VOLTAGE REGULATORS: Explains how our voltage regulator has been custom designed to suit the context in which development organizations work.
LVD: Explains why Add Your Light does not incorporate a "Low Voltage Disconnect" function in the circuitry.
INSTALLATION DIAGRAM: This detailed drawing makes installation easy. There is a cell phone connector in the system, so people can charge their cell phones -- a very important advantage for people living in remote rural areas or trying to run a business.
ALTERNATE INSTALLATION:This second diagram shows a system in which only one switch is used for 3 lamps (eg. for a classroom). We can customize the systems & the training materials to suit the situation.
Our installation guide is step-by-step, making it easy for novices to do installations. We can edit it to suit particular situations.
SPANISH LANGUAGE BROCHURE : This brochure is used to help Spanish-speaking families calculate the cost of candles & kerosene gas lamps. They see that it is possible to purchase an LED lighting system if they simply substitute one cost for the other. The availability of small loans (microcredit) is helping many families purchase a system & have clean, safe light for the first time.
4 MINUTE DOMINICAN VIDEO "MAGIC " : A fun and lively video showing the reality of the LED/solar project in the D.R.
4 MINUTE HAITI VIDEO : A video of the LED/solar project in Cap Rouge, Haiti. This video is lovely. However, it was not done by Add Your Light and it contains some errors, such as:
i. the lamps were not developed at the University of Calgary; they were developed by electronics engineers in Calgary
ii. the voltage regulator protects the battery, not the lamps (the lamps do not need protection), and
iii. the systems cost less than $200, even at low volumes (not including shipping and customs duty).
PAGE 1 , PAGE 2, PAGE 3, PAGE 4, PAGE 5, PAGE 6 : some photos of the project, showing systems or lamps in the D.R., Ethiopia, and Kenya
SOURCING THE OTHER COMPONENTS: We only manufacture the lamps and voltage regulators. This link tells you where we purchase the other components. We can do the purchasing for you, or direct you to a good source.
